Information for GPs
Eligible patients may now be referred under the Medicare Better Access to Psychology Scheme.
This will enable them to access a significant rebate for a maximum of 10 sessions per calendar year, if they have a referral to a psychologist under a GP Mental Health Care Plan.
Initial sessions are granted up to a maximum of 6. If a further allocation of 4 sessions is required, this is accessed via Review of a GP Mental Health Care Plan.
Although we do not offer bulk-billed services, we charge a minimal gap fee for Health Care Card holders.
We provide written information to referrers regarding the assessment, treatment and progress of your patients. We welcome consultation and requests for further information regarding your patients. Please feel free to contact us if you would like to discuss a treatment plan further.
Note: as of 01.11.11 no exceptional circumstances apply due to changes in government legislation.
